Itinerary
Activities: Begin your adventure with a tour of Nairobi, exploring some of the city's most beloved animal sanctuaries. Visit the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage to see rescued baby elephants, the Nairobi Animal Orphanage to learn about wildlife conservation, and the Giraffe Centre where you can feed and interact with endangered Rothschild giraffes.
Overnight: Nairobi
Activities: Depart Nairobi and head to Lake Naivasha, a beautiful freshwater lake in the Great Rift Valley. Enjoy a boat ride on the lake, where you can spot hippos and a variety of bird species. Continue your journey to Nyahururu and visit Thomson's Falls, a picturesque waterfall plunging 74 meters.
Overnight: Thomson’s Falls Lodge, Nyahururu
Activities: Travel to Solio Ranch Sanctuary, a private wildlife conservancy renowned for its successful rhino breeding program. Spend the day on a game drive, where you can see both black and white rhinos, as well as a variety of other wildlife including lions, leopards, and buffalo.
Overnight: Outspan hotel
Activities: Depart Solio Ranch and journey to Samburu National Game Reserve. This reserve is known for its unique wildlife species, including the “Samburu Special Five”: Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx. In the afternoon, enjoy your first game drive in the reserve.
Overnight: Samburu Lodge or elephant Bedroom camp
Activities: Spend the entire day exploring Samburu National Game Reserve and the adjacent Buffalo Springs National Reserve. Morning and afternoon game drives will provide opportunities to spot elephants, lions, cheetahs, and a wide variety of birdlife. In the afternoon, relax and cool off with a refreshing swim.
Overnight: Samburu Lodge or elephant Bedroom camp
Activities: After breakfast, drive to Meru National Park, one of Kenya's most diverse parks, offering a mix of rivers, forests, and open plains. Check into Elsa’s Kopje Lodge, named after the famous lioness Elsa from the book "Born Free". Enjoy an afternoon game drive in this less-visited park, known for its beauty and solitude.
Overnight: Elsa’s Kopje Lodge, Meru National Park
Activities: Experience a full day in Meru National Park with morning and evening game drives. The park is home to the Big Five, including a healthy population of lions and elephants, as well as rare species like the lesser kudu. In the afternoon, take a break from your safari with a swim at the lodge.
Overnight: Elsa’s Kopje Lodge, Meru National Park
Activities: After a final morning game drive in Meru National Park, depart for Nairobi. En route, stop for lunch at the Trout Tree Restaurant, a unique dining experience set in a treehouse with fresh trout caught from nearby streams. After lunch, continue your journey back to Nairobi, where your safari adventure concludes.
